When you use Checkmate ("the Service"), we collect the information you provide directly:

  • Your name and phone number, used to create your account and place accountability calls
  • Your timezone and preferred call schedule
  • The goals you set and the daily or weekly progress you log
  • The content of your accountability calls, which may be recorded and summarized

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To place scheduled accountability calls and send reminders you have enabled
  • To verify your identity via SMS one-time codes when signing in
  • To generate call summaries and track your progress and streaks
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Service

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Service Providers

We rely on third-party providers to operate parts of the Service. These providers process your information only as needed to provide their functionality:

  • Telephony and SMS verification providers, to place calls and deliver sign-in codes
  • AI voice and language-model providers, to conduct calls and generate summaries
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers, to run the Service and store data

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information, goals, logged progress, and call summaries while your account is active. If you delete a goal, its logged progress is deleted. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and token-based authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Opt out of non-essential communications, such as motivational emails

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
